The Originators Drop New Video

The Originators are pleased to announce the latest release of a lively new video that features a little history, a lot of visuals and some practical, helpful information.

Revealed in the video is the history of the Originators’ founders, Debra Roth and Marc Posnock, which runs long and deep.  As the company name, the Originators’, implies, they were at the forefront of designing and using stretch-fabric shapes structures as decorative display / scenic element in the special events industry.  And The Originators offer insight and expertise in their creative-collaboration process.

Check out our new video here:

Beginning in the late 80’s-early 90’s, their separate companies were buying copious amounts of Lycra Spandex.  This fabric was typically used in the apparel industry and was a curious choice for a design company to build on. But the properties and characteristics of stretch fabric were especially appealing, and they went from being pioneers to champions in the use of the stretch fabric in the event, trade show and architectural worlds.  This uphill road took six years to climb – to become an “overnight sensation” – and they succeeded mightily and established a marketplace where none had previously existed.

And the video, chock full of images that reveal their rich histories – past and present, is a testimony that their energies have not flagged…and that their designs and approach are as fresh, robust and as relevant as ever.  The video is an Originators’ production in collaboration with producer – director Aurora Lucia-Levey and can be found here:
